What Has Happened to the English Language?

Am I the only living antique that cringes when I hear the English language being cruely slaughtered?   Why is grammar no longer taught in primary schools–or even in high schools.  I gave up long ago trying to correct my granddughters’ grammar.

No longer does subject mate with its intended verb.

  1. I hate hearing “Me and him are going out now”. Don’t you? Or doesn’t bad grammar disturb you?

  2. I am not stating my English is perfect, but when TEACHERS mangle the language I’m upset. I recently saw a YouTube where a teacher was hawking Obama (this was during the elections). I was less upset by her not so subtle shoving Obama down the kids throats then by her inability to speak correctly and her inability to reason.

  3. Teachers need to be models for the students. If a teacher doesn’t speak properly how can we expect more from students? This is just a sample of the quality of modern education. So sad!
